Albacete train station has routes to Murcia and Alicante and, with less frequency, to Valencia.
Albacete also has a daytime high speed service (AVE) to Madrid. Some train services are suspended over the summer and recommence on 12 September.
Albacete's new train station is on two levels, occupies 21000 square metres and has 43 shops. The station, which was opened by the Minister for Public Works, Jose Blanco, in December 2010, has four platforms with six high speed (AVE) lines and three conventional lines. It was named "Los Llanos" by the Department for Public Works in November of that year.
The arrival of the high speed train (AVE) brought the setting up of the rail traffic management centre for the Madrid-Castilla La Mancha-Levante high speed link.
